A varied salmon river
Salmon fishing in Jakobselv is an experience in itself. Since 2010, the river has ranked among Norway's finest small salmon rivers, with small and medium salmon, occasional larger fish and a healthy trout population.
The river rises on the Varanger peninsula and flows into the Varangerfjord. Its landscape ranges from open upper reaches to waterfalls farther downstream.
Five fishing zones
The river is divided into five fishing zones. A fishing permit covers every zone, leaving you free to choose where to fish.
